What we do
HGS Studio Journal publishes practical, carefully researched writing on printmaking, book arts and works on paper, plus guides for people who want to collect and live with original art. We also cover the arts community of Bisbee, Arizona, the small mountain town where this site's story began.
- How-to guides for printmakers and paper artists at every level
- Collector guides on editions, reproductions, framing and hanging
- Local coverage of Bisbee's galleries, art walk and community art spaces
- Exchanges and open calls, including occasional mail-art projects
The history of this address
From 2009 to 2015, heathergreenstudios.com was home to an artist's studio blog and storefront gallery on Subway Street in Old Bisbee. It covered printmaking and paper dresses, anniversary open calls, the second-Saturday art walk and youth art festivals. In 2015 the gallery closed and the blog went quiet.
When the domain later became available, we rebuilt it as an independent journal on the same subjects, so the people and pages that once linked here still find something useful. The articles at the blog's original addresses have been newly written; the archive's subjects and spirit carry on.
